Wildlife and primate tours
 Gorilla trekking at  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
 • The experience:

Trek through the dense, misty forest accompanied by a guide to meet one of the park's habituated mountain gorilla families. You will have an unforgettable hour to observe these magnificent and endangered primates in their natural environment.
 • Logistics:

With nearly half of the global mountain gorilla population, Uganda stands out as a premier destination for this activity. Permits are necessary and should be secured well in advance, particularly during the dry seasons (June–August and December–February).
 • Visitor information:

The park is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and also provides excellent birdwatching opportunities.

 

Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale National Park

•The experience:

Kibale is recognized as the "Primate Capital of the World" due to its population exceeding 1,500 chimpanzees and 12 additional primate species. You have the opportunity to participate in a half-day trekking adventure to witness the chimpanzees as they engage in play, feeding, and social interactions.
•Extended tours:

For a deeper engagement, you may choose the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, which permits you to spend an entire day with the primates alongside researchers.

Game drives and safaris
•Queen Elizabeth National Park:

Situated on the equator, this park is renowned for its tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector, which can be seen resting in the branches of acacia trees. The park is also home to elephants, leopards, buffalo, hippos, and a variety of bird species.

Murchison Falls National Park:

As the largest national park in Uganda, it offers a quintessential savannah safari experience with a wealth of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, and hippos. You can embark on a boat cruise to witness the breathtaking Murchison Falls, where the entire Nile River is compressed through a 7-meter gorge.

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary:

Make a stop at this sanctuary while traveling to or from Murchison Falls to track rhinos on foot and gain insights into conservation initiatives aimed at reintroducing them to Uganda's national parks.

 

Birdwatching in Mabamba Swamp
• The experience:

Located near Entebbe, this Ramsar Wetland serves as an excellent site for observing the rare and prehistoric shoebill stork. You have the option to embark on a guided canoe excursion through the swamp's channels in pursuit of this elusive bird and numerous others.

Adrenaline and outdoor activities Adventure sports in Jinja
• White-water rafting:

Jinja, recognized as the "Adventure Capital of East Africa," is positioned at the source of the Nile and acts as a central point for adventure enthusiasts. You can partake in world-class white-water rafting and kayaking amidst the river's tumultuous rapids.

• Other activities: Additional popular pursuits encompass bungee jumping, quad biking, and horseback riding along the Nile.

Mountain climbing and hiking
• Rwenzori Mountains National Park:

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, often referred to as the "Mountains of the Moon," this park provides opportunities for multi-day treks to ascend the snow-capped summits. It presents a demanding yet fulfilling experience for dedicated hikers.

 

• Mount Elgon National Park:

Situated on the border with Kenya, this expansive extinct volcano features a vast caldera. It provides multi-day treks to the summit that are less demanding than those in the Rwenzoris, yet still present a considerable challenge.

• Sipi Falls:

Located on the slopes of Mount Elgon, visitors can hike to a series of stunning waterfalls and partake in activities such as abseiling and coffee tours.

Lake exploration
• Lake Bunyonyi:

A breathtaking lake in the southwest, adorned with 29 islands. It serves as a perfect location for relaxation, canoeing, birdwatching, and community visits following a gorilla trek.

• Ssese Islands:

Comprising 84 islands in Lake Victoria, these islands provide a peaceful getaway with soft sandy beaches and lush forests. Buggala Island acts as the primary tourist center and is reachable by ferry from Entebbe.
